I am a researcher at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. I completed my PhD, titled Representation Learning and Temporal Modeling of Large-Scale Dynamic Systems, in 2026. I also work as a teaching assistant for courses in bioinformatics and introductory Python programming.

My research focuses on unsupervised representation learning, particularly on dimensionality reduction for visualization and temporal embeddings, with applications to large-scale biomedical datasets. More recently, my work explores the deployment of large language models in educational settings, including automated assessment and feedback generation.

You may know some of my open-source work, including the openTSNE and VERA libraries for low-dimensional embeddings, as well as my contributions to the Orange data-mining toolkit.

Together with colleagues, I co-developed an open bioinformatics course structured around a COVID-19 investigation storyline, which has become highly popular among students and is publicly available online. I also led one of the first real-world deployments of large language models for automated grading in a university classroom setting.
